Happy fall. It’s Derek Lau with the October 2020 aideM Media Minute. As you can see, there are some things changing out here. The leaves are changing, I got my fall sweater on and my pumpkin latte, but that’s not all that’s changing. The way people are doing business is changing and the way we’re doing videos is definitely changing.
We’ve done two new types of videos recently that we haven’t really done a lot of in the past. One of those is an FPV drone-style video that we partnered with Nick Lang Media on, for the Power Packs nonprofit organization. The difference between FPV style video and a regular drone video is the pilot actually wears goggles and they fly a smaller drone at a faster speed inside a building, instead of your typical drone shots are outside of a building. The other style video that we did recently that was new for us was a 360 tour video of the High Steel factory out in Greenfield. These types of videos can be watched with a VR headset or they can be watched on your cell phone when you twist the screen around. Check them out. They’re pretty cool and they’re fun and different.
The other new thing that we’ve had an opportunity to do a lot of this year was virtual galas. We work with a lot of nonprofit organizations on their galas in the past and their videos that play up on the screen. This year, with limitations on crowd sizes and things like that, we’ve helped a lot of companies tell their stories with video and help raise money for their nonprofit organizations through virtual galas. There’s a couple of examples of ones that we’ve done for The Denver House and REAL Life Community Services, as well as Tabor, and we have a couple more in the pipeline that we’re working on in the future.
Speaking of nonprofit organizations, Lancaster has the Extraordinary Give coming up in November. We’ve already started working on a couple of videos for nonprofit organizations. If you know a nonprofit organization that is looking to gain volunteers or gain support during the Extra Give, we’d be glad to help them out. Again, that’s some of the new things we’ve been doing at aideM Media. There’s been a lot of changes going on. I hope your business is changing and your business is surviving and doing well. I look forward to seeing you in November. Take care.
